Kokkinakis, 25, is set to make his sixth main draw appearance at Melbourne Park.

Kokkinakis won his first Australian Open match in 2014, when he was just 17.

Kokkinakis made the Australian Open second round three times and twice lost in the first round.

Kokkinakis was a set away from reaching his first Australian Open third round last year but he lost to Stefanos Tsitsipas in five sets in the second round.

Kokkinakis hopes it’s not too late for him

Kokkinakis had been plagued by various injuries throughout his career but he is finally healthy.

Kokkinakis is hoping to stay healthy long-term and start making notable results.

“Yeah, I think it definitely can’t hurt. Last year I came into the season after two years of barely any tennis, one year of absolutely nothing, then the year before I think I played five or so tournaments,” said Kokkinakis, per Tennis Australia.

“Even though I’ve been around a while, it feels like I’m still relatively new, compared to matches played, tennis played and compared to all the other guys my age.

“I still feel like I’ve got a lot to give, but last year playing a lot of tough matches in tough conditions, hopefully has set me up for a better year.”

Kokkinakis is having a strong start to the season as he made the Adelaide semifinal as a wildcard.

“It’s been really hard. But I look back on the moments where I’ve had success and the feelings I got from being on court and having good wins,” he said.

“II use that to fuel me for as long as I can. I know I can’t do this forever. So even if I’m just struggling at certain times, I kind of hang on those moments to push me through.”
