Roger Federer: I am appreciating the fact that I can drive the car again

Roger Federer, 40, is happy that he is able to do the normal activities again such as driving a car.

Federer underwent a knee surgery in August — his third knee surgery in the last two years — but he is still not ready to call it a career.

While at home, Federer is enjoying time with his wife and kids.

“I’m disappointed but I don’t want to rush the times,” Federer said, per Eurosport.

“Going back to the courts at the age of 40-41-42… It doesn’t change much, the important thing is to go back.

“I am a happy father. I am appreciating the fact that I can drive the car again.

“Who knows if I will be a commentator in the future, now I work to return to play and comment on the games from the pitch … “

Federer says he is ‘missing out’

Federer has always thrived on fast surfaces and he was disappointed to miss the US Open and ATP Finals.

“I heard also the US Open was fast, I’m hearing the Tour Finals is fast, so I’m missing out,” responded Federer.

“It’s all good, it’s part of the game, I’ve had a great career so far, and I’ve learned a lot on the slow courts, I’ve enjoyed playing on the fast courts as well, but also clay is where I grew up, so no problem. But it would have been nice to be in Turin instead of being in Switzerland right now, that’s for sure.”

Also, Federer spoke about the Peng Shuai disappearance as he is hoping the Chinese will be found well and safe.

“I hope she is safe,” Federer said of Peng.

“The whole tennis family gathered around her. I hope she is well, and that news will come from her and I hope that she is well and that she will give us news.”
