Novak Djokovic: “I know my ideas annoy many”

Talking to the media at the 2021 ATP Finals, Novak Djokovic admitted that he is aware that some of his stances have made him bad in the eyes of many people.

Nole, in fact, said: “We are a conformist society, we always prefer to join the herd rather than be brave. I know very well that I am a thorn in the side of many. I try to break the monopoly system that has characterized our sport for too many years.”

The goal of the PTPA is precisely to help second tier tennis players to live better thanks to tennis. He explained: “I know who I am and what is right to do. Limiting the discussion to the men’s circuit only, there are just 150 players who make a living from tennis.

The number is even lower on the WTA tour. In no other sport does such a phenomenon occur. The elite are trying to get more and more money, while lower-ranking tennis players are not heard. I am here to show the right way.”

Nole defeated by Zverev at the Finals

After the victory at the Olympics, Alexander Zverev’s new prestigious success against world number one Novak Djokovic in the semifinal of the ATP Finals 2021. The German champion beats his Serbian rival after a battle of about two and a half hours and gets the pass for the final against Daniil Medvedev, a tennis player who has already beaten him (in the third tiebreaker) during the group stage.

A very lively and enjoyable match, perhaps the best of these Turin Atp Finals. Now the German has the chance to win the year-end Finals for the second time in his career. The two players both start very strong in the service and the games flow forward quickly.

In the other semifinal, Daniil Medvedev beats Casper Ruud in two sets and gets the pass for the final of the last big event of the year. He awaits the German Alexander Zverev, but what is certain is that Turin will have a great final (perhaps the best possible).

Quite obvious victory with Daniil who had always won in the previous ones and once again two partials are enough to close the Norwegian practice. After Jannik Sinner this time it is Ruud’s turn to suffer the Russian fury of the number two in the world.
