Frances Tiafoe: It would be cool to be LeBron James for a day

American tennis player Frances Tiafoe has revealed that he would like to be LeBron James for a day.

Tiafoe, ranked at No. 41 in the world, is a big fan of basketball and James is his favorite athlete.

“I think it will be pretty cool to be LeBron James for a day. I love basketball, he is like my favorite athlete. I look up to him like crazy, Tiafoe revealed in Stockholm.

Meanwhile, Tiafoe is playing his last tournament of the season in Stockholm.

Tiafoe has been through to the Stockholm quarterfinals following wins over Elias Ymer and Pedro Martinez.

“It’s been tough. Obviously last week was hard. Coming back from a great week in Vienna… I wanted to call it a season. Coach wanted me to try make more push and end on a better note. I’m trying, battling myself a little bit obviously as you saw today,” Tiafoe said after his first round win in Stockholm.

Tiafoe was pulling off a James celebration at the US Open

“There’s still a lot of tournaments for this season. But, man, it’s great. This is good to like see the crowd, enjoy what I’m able to do,” Tiafoe said when asked about doing the LeBron James celebration and how would that carry over into next season for him.

“I feel like when I’m out there playing, I feel like it’s bigger than a tennis match, win or lose. I mean, it got me super emotional, I almost cried walking off the court. Not just even because I lost, it’s just the amount they showed me walking off the court. Losing a tennis match is almost irrelevant sometimes what the outcome is. I’m bouncing a ball going into the breaker, deuce or whatever in the third, and I have four kids saying, ‘Whatever happens, you are my inspiration, like that’s what it’s about.”
