Italian tennis star Matteo Berrettini enjoyed playing at the Laver Cup and the team atmosphere of which he was around.

Team Europe claimed the most dominant win in Laver Cup history, beating Team Europe 14-1.
Besides Berrettini, Team Europe was also represented by Daniil Medvedev, Stefanos Tsitsipas, Alexander Zverev, Andrey Rublev and Casper Ruud.
“Obviously we’re playing for ourselves where we are on tour but I think it’s so nice to play for a team like this. We more or less know each other since a long time. They give me motivation to improve. I leaarned a lot from Bjorn and Thomas. Thanks again for calling me, having me here,” Berrettini said.
Berrettini won his lone singles match at the Laver Cup
On Friday, Berrettini recovered from a set down to beat Felix Auger-Aliassime 6-7 (3) 7-5 10-8.
Agee the match, Berrettini admitted he didn’t know how he pulled off a comeback win over Auger-Aliassime.
“I don’t know,” Berrettini said, when asked how did he overturn the deficit against Auger-Aliassime. Just fighting. I felt the match was really hard. You know, Felix was playing really good, not giving me anything, no mistakes, serving really well. I felt a different energy, to know that I’m playing for my team, not just for myself, for my family. I felt great and they helped me a lot.”
On the other side, Auger-Aliassime admitted he was disappointed after losing a tight match to Berrettini.
“Of course it’s disappointing to lose. At the same time I think I have showed and reflected how much this team wants to win. You know, it’s only the start of the weekend, we’ve got a lot of matches ahead and I’m aire we are going to give it everything to win,” Auger-Aliassime said.
