Emma Raducanu: “I felt the weight of these two weeks”

Emma Raducanu, 18-years-old British tenant, wild card at Wimbledon 2021, reached the 4th round on the lawns of the All England Club. Strong, young, beautiful and above all British, the young star made all the fans dream for a week at Church Road.

Her run was stopped by Ajla Tomljanovic in the 4th round of the Championships. After the MTO and her withdrawal, the controversy also came: Emma holds her stomach, remains bent over after a long exchange and, according to some, seems to hyperventilate. A couple of hard-fought games, in the second set and, under 0-3, she receives the medical treatment off the court, after which the withdrawal came.

Emma Raducanu said: “I wanted to let you know that I feel much better this morning. First, I want to congratulate Ajla on the incredible performance and I am sorry that the match ended that way.

Emma Raducanu: “I felt the weight of these two weeks”

I was playing the best tennis of my life. in front of a fantastic audience this week, and I think this situation made itself felt. At the end of the first set, after some really intense exchanges, I started breathing heavily and feeling dizzy.

The doctors advised me not to continue and while it seemed like the hardest thing in the world not to be able to finish my Wimbledon on the pitch, I wasn’t well enough to continue. I want to thank the people who supported me at every match, I really wanted to win for you! I also want to thank the All England Club, my team, the LTA, my parents and friends.

Last night was a great lesson to learn what it takes to play at the highest level. Ap I will price everything we have achieved together and I will come back stronger! I can’t wait to find out what my trip has in store for me.”

Anyway, UK could have find a good player for the future of the Britishi women’s tennis.

thank you for the support❤️ pic.twitter.com/C47TTvOQK9
