Srdjan Djokovic: “Nole must not confront Federer, but Michael Jordan”

In the last twenty years the tennis world has been dominated by three athletes who have literally conquered the circuit and all the fans success after success. Obviously the characters in question are Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic and who before and who after was at the top of the ranking.

These three players have won 58 Grand Slams together, an incredible number that reminds everyone that this generation has perhaps had the best of all time at the same time. Beyond this, in recent years the debate has arisen about who is the GOAT, or the best tennis player of all time.

There is no precise parameter in this regard, some speak of the Slams, others of the weeks at the top of the standings but the fans and all the fans of this sport advocate their cause and their support. A character who has never had doubts about who the GOAT is is Srdjan Djokovic, clearly biased since we are talking about the father of the current number one in the world.

Srdjan Djokovic and his son’s numbers

Srdjan Djokovic made other interesting statements to the microphones of the local newspaper Sportske Novosti. Here are his words: “Novak Djokovic is the best tennis player of all time and above all he is one of the best athletes ever.

I remember the words of an English journalist who recently claimed that his rivals are not Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal but other sports legends such as Tiger Woods and Michael Jordan. He is in that category, he is one of the best athletes of all time, not just the best tennis player.”

On the lack of affection for his value, Srdjan then declared: “Tennis players from 50 position upwards barely survive and can’t make ends meet, Novak fights for them even without Federer and Nadal.

This is Novak, a good man as well as a great sportsman. Nobody hugs the opponent when he loses like Djokovic does. And the ATP has given 15 awards to Roger Federer and not once, it’s absurd.”

It is not the first time that Srdjan has criticized the attitude of the ATP, of part of the sponsors and of the fans themselves for this sort of preference towards Roger Federer and not his son.
