Serena Williams is about to move a business worth about $ 7.5M: the American champion, in fact, after the defeat at the Australian Open 2021 against Naomi Osaka, complete with tears in the post-match press-conference, is selling her mansion in Beverly Hills for this astronomical figure!
We woud like to recall that Serena bought this house in October 2017 for $ 6.68M: she would thus have, with the sale, a profit of almost a million dollars.
But what house are we talking about? It is a 6,000 square foot construction: inside there are five bedrooms and seven bathrooms.
The three-story contemporary Spanish-style house offers panoramic city views, and among the various optionals are a bar, gym, wine cellar and a gym for practicing yoga. Outside there is a beautiful Baja swimming pool and a large lawn.
Williams has won 73 WTA singles titles: 23 of these are Grand Slam events (all-time record in the Open Era, men included), making her the second player ever to have won more Majors in this specialty behind only Margaret Smith Court, who excels with 24. He has completed the virtual Grand Slam, which consists in winning four consecutive Slams not in the same calendar year, twice (in the two years 2002-2003 and 2014-2015). She can also boast five year-end Master Cups and 19 Premier category tournaments (6 Premier Mandatory, 6 Premier 5 and 7 Premier), as well as 21 Tier I and Tier II titles and a gold medal won at the London Olympics in 2012.
We have also to recall that in the last days Serena Williams defended Megan Markle from attacks, after Prince Harry and Duchess of Sussex interview with Oprah Winfrey! Serena said she understands the pain and cruelty suffered by Meghan after some member of the British royal family raised the issue of how dark their unborn baby Archie’s skin would be.
Serena wrote: “Meghan Markle, my selfless friend, lives her life – and leads by example – with empathy and compassion. She teaches me every day what it means to be truly noble. Her words illustrate the pain and rthe cruelty she’s expericed.
I know first hand the sexism and racism institutions and the media use to vilify women and people of color to minimize us, to break us down and demonize us. We must recognize our obligation to decry malicious, unfounded gossip and tabloid journalism.
The mental health consequences of systemic oppression and victimization are devastating, isolating and all too often lethal. I want Meghan’s daughter, my daughter and your daughter to live in a society that is driven by respect.
Keep in your memory the fruitage of the spirit is love, joy, peace, long-suffering, kindness, goodness, faith, mildness, self-control. Against such things there is no law.”
